Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing respondents to speedy disposal of petitioner's petition, dated 04.09.2023 for issuing a patta at survey No.143/1 in Devipattinam Revenue Village, Ramanathapuram Taluk, Ramanathapuram District pending before the 2nd respondent in view of the proceedings of the 2nd respondent in Na.Ka.A6/5991/2023, dated 05.09.2023 within a time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

The petitioner herein had requested the 2nd respondent to cancel the patta issued in the names of persons totally unconnected with the property on 04.09.2023 and the same was taken on file on 05.09.2023. However, to date no enquiry has been held. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

3. Taking into consideration the above representation, a mandamus is issued to the 2nd respondent to dispose of the petition made by the petitioner on 04.09.2023, after giving notice to the persons in whose names the patta had been issued, namely Rabaytheen and Ragunatheen and pass orders on merits. In case of rejection, a speaking order shall be passed. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

4. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands allowed. No costs.
