ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed by a Sub Inspector of Police seeking temporary promotion under Rule 15 of the Tamil Nadu Police Subordinate Service Rules.

2. According to the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, the petitioner's name has not been considered for promotion to the post of Inspector of Police on the ground that a criminal case is pending as against him. The petitioner has addressed a representation on 25.08.2023 to the respondent herein.

3. Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the respondent to consider the said representation on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above said observation, this writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
