O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed by a retired Assistant Director of Agriculture seeking a Mandamus for expeditious disposal of his disciplinary proceedings.

2. The petitioner herein was issued with a charge memo on 31.03.2016, on the date of his retirement, under Rule 17 (b) of Tamil Nadu Civil Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules. The petitioner has received only the temporary monetary benefits for the past 6 1⁄2 years from the date of retirement. However, so far the departmental proceeding have not been concluded. The petitioner has sent a detailed representation on 05.12.2022. However, so far the departmental proceeding have not been concluded. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent. 2/4

4. Considering the above said facts, the respondent herein is directed to conclude the disciplinary proceedings within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
