ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Thanjavur to expedite the trial in DVC No. 22 of 2019 within time frame as may be fixed by this Court.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petition has been filed on 20.04.2019 and it was posted for first hearing on 23.04.2019. He would further submit that as per Section 12(4) of Domestic Violence Act, 2005, an endeavour should be made by the trial Court to dispose of every application within a period of 60-days from the date of its first hearing. The respondents have appeared before the Court and thereby would seek for a direction to dispose of the petition as expeditiously as possible. The direction is issued to complete the trial and pass final orders as per mandate of Section 12(4) of the Domestic Violence Act, 2005.

3. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition stands closed. The learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Thanjavur is directed to dispose the DVC No. 22 of 2019 within a period of Six Months, from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.
