PRAYER :- For Bail in Crime no.08 of 2023 on the file of the Respondent Police. ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner/sole accused who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 21.09.2023 for the alleged offence punishable under Section 7(a) of Prevention of Corruption (Amended) Act, 2018 in Crime No.8 of 2023, on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner who is a foreman demanded a sum of Rs.15000/- as bribe from the defacto complainant to give extension for commercial EB Connection . Hence the case.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would contend that the petitioner is innocent and due to previous enmity a false case has been foisted against him. He would further submit that the petitioner is is custody from 21.09.2023 and he would further submit that the marriage of the petitioner is fixed on 12.10.2023, hence he seeks bail.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent Police would submit that petitioner who is a foreman demanded a sum of Rs.15000/- as bribe from the defacto complainant to give extension for commercial EB Connection. Trap was conducted and the accused got red handed. Phenolphthalein test also proved positive, hence, he strongly objected to grant bail to the petitioner. 5.Taking into consideration the fact that the accused got red handed while receiving the bribe amount and also taking into consideration the gravity of offence committed by the petitioner and also the fact that the investigation is in preliminary stage, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

6. Hence the petition stands dismissed.
