..Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to correct the Petitioner's land extent as 22 cents instead of 19 3⁄4 cents in patta No.4971, issued by the third respondent for S.No.328/5B, situated at Rachandar Thirumalai Revenue Village, Kulithalai Taluk, Karur District.

ORDER

The Petitioner has prayed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to correct the Petitioner's land extent as 22 cents instead of 19 3⁄4 cents in patta No.4971, issued by the third respondent for S.No.328/5B, situated at Rachandar Thirumalai Revenue Village, Kulithalai Taluk, Karur District.

2.Mr.D.Sadiq Raja, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents 1 to 3. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 3.The case of the Petitioner is that the Petitioner has purchased the prayer mentioned property by way of registered sale deed vide Doc.No. 2882/2000 at Sub-Registrar Office, Uraiyur, Trichy District and patta was also issued to him in Patta No.4971 by the third respondent. But in the patta, the extent of land is wrongly stated as 0.8.00 Ares ie., 19 3/4 cents instead of 22 cents. In this regard the Petitioner has submitted representations on 16.6.2021 and 18.6.2021 to the respondents 1 and 2, which was forwarded to the third respondent vide proceedings dated 27.7.2021 and 12.10.2021. But till date, the respondents have not rectified the aforesaid mistake committed in the Petitioner's patta with regard to the extent. Hence the Petitioner has filed this Writ Petition for the relief stated supra.

4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 would submit that the Petitioner's claim in the representations was considered by the authorities concerned and on enquiry, it was found that as per the Government records, the extent of land available is not more than 19 3⁄4 cents as in the patta issued to him and not 22 cents as averred by the Petitioner. 5.In view of the above said submission, recording the statement made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, the Writ Petition is disposed of. However, it is left open to the Petitioner to approach the appropriate forum, for necessary relief, in the manner known to law, if so advised. No costs.
