ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a Mandamus not to provide compassionate appointment to the 3rd respondent, who is the daughter-in-law of the writ petitioner.

2. The writ petitioner's son, namely Palanichamy was working as a Village Administrative Officer and he died in harness on 25.12.2022.

3. As per the affidavit, the said Palanichamy had divorced his first wife and thereafter, he got married to the present 3rd respondent herein. Through the 3rd respondent, the said Palanichamy is having 2 minor children, who are aged about 16 years and 14 years.

It could be seen from the writ affidavit, the 3rd respondent has already filed a writ petition seeking compassionate appointment, in which orders have been passed directing the authorities to consider her request. Now, the present writ petition has been filed by the mother-inlaw seeking a Mandamus not to grant compassionate appointment to her 2/5

daughter-in-law and such an employment should be granted only to her grand-children.

The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the official respondents brought to the notice of the Court that the minor children have made a representation to the authorities that they would like to pursue their education and the compassionate appointment may be granted to their mother, namely the 3rd respondent herein. However, the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner submits that the 3rd respondent is in affluent stage and she is not eligible to get compassionate appointment. In case, if the petitioner feels that the 3rd respondent is not eligible to get compassionate appointment, it is for her to approach the concerned authorities. The writ petitioner has no locus standi to file such a writ petition.

6. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
