PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to settle petitioner's surrender leave salary for 105 days in respect of the years 2011-2012, 2012-13, 2013-2014, 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2016-2017, 2017-2018, 2018-2019, 2019-2020, 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 together with interest at the rate of 18% per annum payable from the date for retirement to till the date of actual payment.

ORDER

The instant writ petition has been filed by a retired employee of the respondent transport corporation seeking a mandamus to settle the surrender leave salary along with 6% interest.

2.According to the learned Counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, though he had attained superannuation on 31.07.2022, the earned leave salary for 105 days has not yet been released so far. Seeking the above said benefits, the petitioner has sent a representation on 10.06.2024. Since there is no response, the present writ petition has been filed. 3.Considering the above said facts, the respondents herein are directed to settle the eligible earned leave salary of the writ petitioner along with 6% interest from the due date till the date of disbursement within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt a copy of this order. 4.With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
