ORDER

The Criminal Original Petition has been filed to issue a direction to the respondents herein to produce the body or person of the detenue, Annammal @ Rekha D/o. Munieeswaran, aged about 20 years who has been missing from 29.11.2019 before this Court and set her at liberty.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner.

3. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing the learned Government Advocate (crl side) appearing for the respondent police would submit that based on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Crime No.354 of 2019 was registered for the offences under Sections 147, 148, 448, 323, 366 and 506(ii) of IPC r/w Section 4 of Tamilnadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002. During the course of investigation, the detenue Annammal @ Rekha had appeared before the Pudukkottai Police station and she had stated that while she was studying B.Com., in Pope's College, Sayarpuram, she had fallen in love with her cousin Balamurugan @ Petchimuthu Balan and then, since it was opposed by the petitioner she had asked him to https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

Crl.O.P.(MD)No.18436 of 2019 come to her house and that she had gone with him on her own volition and got married on the same day. The learned Government Advocate (Cr. Side) would further submit that since the detenue was a major they have allowed her to go and that in respect of other offences they will conduct enquiry in accordance with law.

4. Recording the aforesaid submission, the Criminal Original Petition stands closed.
