PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to transfer the name from PL.M.Muthaiah to the petitioner name M.Kamalanathan in Property Tax New Assessment No.115/034/901300, Old Assessment No.115/13914 and other relevant records to the house premises at in R.S.No. 21/5, measuring an extent of 3499 Sq.fts in Sathamangalam Village, Aringar Anna Nagar 1st East Cross Street, Plot No.220, Ward No.XIX, Madurai District in the light of the representation dated 19.07.2023.

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus directing the respondents to transfer the property tax assessment from the name of PL.M.Muthiah to the name of the petitioner.

2. According to the learned Counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, he has purchased the property from PL.M.Muthiah under registered sale deed, dated 29.09.2022 in document No.4708 of 2022. However, when he approached the authorities for mutation of the tax receipt, it was not considered. Hence, the present writ petition.

3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents Corporation submitted that the request of the petitioner would be considered as and when the sale deed as well as the property tax arrears is cleared by the writ petitioner.

4. In view of the above said facts, there shall be a direction to the respondents to effect mutation in the property tax assessment as and when the sale deed is produced and the property tax arrears is cleared by the petitioner.

5. With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
