ORDER

After submitting a representation on 14.08.2020 for enhancement of compensation in respect of lands acquired under award No.29A/2018, the present writ petition has been filed on the ground that the reference case has not been numbered as on date.

2. Learned Special Government Pleader, who appears on behalf of both the respondents, submits that necessary action would be taken to number the reference pending before the learned III Additional Sub Judge, Madurai.

3. From the affidavit of the petitioner, it appears that the reference was made in August 2020. It is unclear as to why such reference has not been numbered till date. Therefore, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the second respondent to take all necessary steps to number the reference under Section 18(1) of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 pending before the III Additional Sub Court, Madurai within two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
