Heard Mr.K.Appadurai, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.P.Subbaraj, learned Special Government Pleader for the first respondent and Mr.R.Murali, learned counsel for the second respondent.

The present Writ Petition has been filed praying for a Mandamus, directing the respondents to pay the admitted sum of Rs.4,63,743/- (Rupees Four Lakh Sixty Three Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty Three only) together with interest at 7.5% p.a., withheld towards additional security deposit and final balance on each contract without any further delay, to the petitioner.

The learned counsel for the second respondent would submit that as and when the petitioner produces the receipt evidencing payment of EMD, the amount would be released forthwith and with respect to the balance payment arising out of contract, the same would be paid within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

4. Recording the same, this Writ Petition is ordered to the extent directing the second respondent to release the EMD amount forthwith on production of receipt evidencing EMD and in respect of balance payment arising out of contract works, the same shall be paid within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
