ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by M.DURAISWAMY,J.) The petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition as a Public Interest Litigation to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take further action against 12th respondent and ensure the quality of the programs in Kalvi TV on the basis of the representation dated 03.09.2019.
2.It is the case of the petitioner that 12th respondent, who was working as a co-ordinator / Executive in-charge of the Kalvi TV Channel, had committed various irregularities and therefore, suitable action should be taken against him. Further, the petitioner has stated that eighth respondent had registered a criminal case 2/4
against 12th respondent under Sections 120(b), 465, 467, 468, 471, 474 and 109 I.P.C and under Section 31(2) r/w 13(1)(c), 13(1)(d) and 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
3.When the Writ Petition was taken up for hearing, Mrs.S.Srimathy, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 11 submitted that 12th respondent was removed from the post of Co-ordinator on 07.12.2019. Therefore, the Writ Petition has become infructuous. The learned Special Government Pleader had also produced the copy of the order dated 07.12.2019. 4.Since 12th respondent was removed from the post of Co-ordinator / Executive in-charge of the Kalvi TV Channel, the relief sought for in the Writ Petition has become infructuous. So far as the criminal complaint registered against 12th respondent is concerned, eighth respondent shall take appropriate action in accordance with law.
5.With these observations, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
