The petitioner herein filed a writ petition in W.P.(MD) No.3745 of 2024 seeking a direction to the respondents to lay a road in the cart track in Survey Nos.445/3, 446/2, 447/2, 448/3 and 450/2 of Vaippar II Village, Vilathikulam Taluk, Thoothukudi District.

2. This Court, on considering the nature of the prayer, vide order dated 19.02.2024, disposed of the said writ petition with certain directions to the respondents. The relevant portion of the said order reads as follows: "4.Sanctioning of funds and laying of roads are all on the administrative domain of the respondent authorities. Hence, such request of the petitioner cannot be entertained by this Court. However, this Court directs the respondent authorities to look into matter and take a decision or pass appropriate orders addressing the grievance of the petitioner based on his representation dated 03.02.2024. "

3. Stating that the respondents have not complied with the above directions issued by this Court, the petitioner has filed the present contempt petition.

4. Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that the Block Development Officer, Vilathikulam, Tuticorin District, has sent a proposal for laying a road in the subject land and for sanction of funds. The subject is under consideration. Once funds are released, road will be laid in the subject land.

5. Recording the above submission, this contempt petition is closed.
