Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, forbearing the respondent from insisting to add the officials and Minister's name in the Kumbabisegam Invitation of Arulmigu Nelli Ayyanar, Osaimani Kaliyamman Temple, Vadagudi, Karaikudi Taluk, Sivagangai District which scheduled on 07.09.2025 and also consequently direct the respondent to cooperate in positive manner and grant such further or other orders as this Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case.

Heard both sides.

2.The Kumbabishekam for the writ petitioner temple is to be held on 07.09.2025. The petitioner alleges that the departmental officials are compelling them to include the name of the Hon'ble Minister as well as 2/4

the officials in the invitation as well as in the stone inscription. According to the petitioner, the financial contribution has come only from the villagers and that no individuals name will be mentioned. 3.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Advocate General produced copy of the permission granted by the Commissioner, HR&CE Department, Chennai on 02.09.2025 for conducting Kumbabishekam. He made it clear that there is no insistence or compulsion as alleged by the writ petitioner. The stand of the respondents is recorded. The petitioner can very well go ahead with the function.

4.This writ petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs.
