ORDER

The petitioner seeks to quash the final report in S.T.C.No.867 of 2025, dated 08.02.2025, on the file of the Judicial Magistrate, Radhapuram, Tirunelveli District, which was filed for the offence under Sections 296(b), 115(2) and 351(2) of BNS, 2023.

2. The allegation in the final report is that due to prior enmity, the petitioner abused the defacto complainant in filthy language, attacked and threatened him with dire consequences and thus, committed the aforesaid offences.

3. Admittedly, the parties have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 10.09.2025 and the scanned copy of the compromise memo reads as follows:

4. The petitioner, namely, Rajesh (Aadhaar No.7671 2390 5369) and the second respondent, namely, Manikandan (Aadhaar No.2094 2788 1600) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.Murugan, Sub Inspector of Police, Koodankulam Police Station, Tirunelveli District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

In view of the same and considering the nature of the offences and the relationship between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned final report pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned final report in S.T.C.No.867 of 2025, dated 08.02.2025, on the file of the Judicial Magistrate, Radhapuram, Tirunelveli District is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. 11.09.2025 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No Indu 6/8
