JUDGMENT

(Judgment of the Court was delivered by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM,J.) The present Writ Appeal has been instituted against the order dated 05.12.2017 passed in W.P.(MD).No.5225 of 2014.

2. The learned Single Judge has not issued any positive direction to appoint the respondent. A simple direction was issued to consider the application submitted by the respondent for appointment on compassionate grounds. It is needless to state that compassionate appointments are to be made scrupulously in consonance with the scheme prevailing. Thus, we are not inclined to go into the merits of the claim set out by the respondent in her application and the appellant is at liberty to pass orders on merits and in accordance with law. Since the issues are not decided on merits, we are not inclined to interfere with the order impugned.

3. Accordingly, the Writ Appeal stands dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition stands closed.
