ORDER

The instant writ petition has been filed by a Clerk working in the Mangudi Primary Agricultural Co-operative Credit Society, seeking a mandamus to direct the respondent to consider his representation dated 21.08.2023 and promote him as the Secretary of the said Society. 1/4

2.According to the learned Counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, he was initially appointed as Salesman in the year 1991 and promoted as an Attender in the year 2009. The petitioner was later promoted as Clerk on 01.07.2012 and he is functioning as Secretary(in charge) from the year 2015 onwards.

3.According to the learned Counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, the post of Secretary is vacant in the Mangudi Primary Agricultural Co-operative Credit Society, and he is fully qualified to be appointed as Secretary of the said Society. Hence, the petitioner has given a representation on 21.08.2023. Since the same has not been considered, the present writ petition has been filed. 4.According to the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent, the petitioner has not yet been promoted as Assistant Secretary and therefore, the question of promoting him directly as Secretary would not arise.

5.Considering the above said facts, the respondent herein is directed to consider the representation of the writ petitioner dated 21.08.2023 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

6.With the above said directions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
