ORDER

I have heard Mr.A.Balaji, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.M.Lingadurai, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

2. The petitioner seeks issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 09.05.2023 to include the petitioner's name in the Town Survey Land Register.

3. The contention of the writ petitioner is that though the land acquisition proceedings were initiated, till date no steps have been taken for taking over the petitioner's land. The petitioner claims right under a decree in O.S.No.147 of 1970 and subsequently partition deed in Document No.10813 of 2007 under which, property stood allotted to the writ petitioner.

4. Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for in the writ petition, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent to 2/4

consider the petitioner's application and pass orders on merits, in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after giving an opportunity to the parties. No costs.
