PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to issue transfer certificate and to return the original consolidated marksheet of B.Sc (Physics) submitted at the time of admission by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 31.08.2024 and to pass order within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondent to issue transfer certificate and to return the original consolidated marksheet of B.Sc (Physics) submitted at the time of admission by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 31.08.2024. 1/5

2.Mr.T.Sakthi Kumaran, learned Counsel, takes notice for the respondent.

3.By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

4.The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner has completed UG in B.Sc (Physics). Thereafter, she joined in M.Sc., (Computer Science, Cyber Security) at the respondent University. At the time of admission, the petitioner produced all the original documents such as Statement of Mark, Transfer Certificate, Community Certificate and Conduct Certificate. After completing the first semester, the petitioner discontinued the course at the respondent University and joined in M.Sc. (Physics) at another college. However, the petitioner was not issued with the original certificates produced by her before the respondent University at the time admission. Hence, she filed this writ petition seeking return of those documents.

5.The learned counsel for the respondent, on instructions, would submit that the respondent University is ready to return all the original 2/5

certificates of the petitioner. However, in the Transfer Certificate, her discontinuation of the course at the respondent University will be reflected.

6.The learned counsel for petitioner would submit that the petitioner has no grievance about such reflection in the Transfer Certificate.

7.In view of the above submission, the respondent University is directed to return all the original certificates to the petitioner under proper acknowledgment within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

8.With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
