Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.09.2018 and correct the mistakes in the UDR related to the petitioner's land in survey No.241/1A to an extent of 1 Acre 20 Cents, situated at Vellayampatti Village and Post, Palamedu, Vadipatti Taluk, Madurai District.

ORDER

Heard Mr.G.Solai Raja, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mrs.J.Padmavathi Devi, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

2.This writ petition has been filed seeking for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.09.2018 and correct the mistakes in the UDR related to the petitioner's land in survey No.241/1A to an extent of 1 Acre 20 Cents, situated at Vellayampatti Village and Post, Palamedu, Vadipatti Taluk, Madurai District. 3.In the affidavit, it appears that the petitioner has sent several representations to the District Collector to rectify the mistake in the UDR Patta and on 24.09.2018 the same has been sent to other respondents through registered post. After receiving the said representation, the third respondent sent a communication letter dated 29.10.2018 to the Zonal Deputy Tahsildar, Alanganallur Zone, Madurai. W.P(MD)No.26464 of 2019 further communication letter to the third respondent on 28.11.2018. So far no action has been taken. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

4.When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the District Revenue Officer is the competent authority to deal with the rectification of the mistake in the UDR patta. She further pointed out that the District Revenue Officer is not a party to the wit petition and hence, the District Revenue Officer, Madurai, may be suo motu impleaded as a party to the writ petition. 5.Considering the submissions made by the learned Special Government Pleader, this Court suo motu impleaded the District Revenue Officer, Madurai, as the fourth respondent in the writ petition.

6.In view of the above, the District Revenue Officer, who has been impleaded as the fourth respondent, is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 24.09.2018, after conducting enquiry with respect to the changes sought for by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders on merit and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
