Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents No. 1 to 4 to shift their plan of commissioning the construction of electric/gasifier crematorium as well as cemetery and burial ground in Gnalam Village Panchayat to some other suitable place in Kanyakumari District other than the Kaariakoam, Gnalam village Panchayat, Thovazhai Panchayat Union, Kanyakumari District.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M.S.RAMESH,J.) The grievance of the petitioner is with regard to the commissioning/construction of electric/gasifier crematorium as well as cemetery and burial ground in Gnalam Village Panchayat.

2. Today, when the writ petition came up or hearing, the learned Government Pleader, on written instructions, submitted that the proposal to form an electric crematorium in the place, as stated by the petitioner has been 2/4

dropped. As such the grievance of the petitioner stands redressed. Hence, no further orders are required to be passed in this writ petition. Accordingly, the writ petition is closed. There shall be no order as to cost. Consequently connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
