O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the second respondent to cancel Patta No. 223, which was wrongly issued in the name of the fourth respondent by the third respondent in respect of the petitioner's property bearing Survey No. 72/26, measuring an extent of 0.7.50 ares, situated at Komangalam Revenue Village, Viralimalai Taluk, Pudukkottai District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 03.10.2023.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate appearing for respondents 1 to 3 submitted that the representation of the petitioner would be considered and disposed of by the second respondent, in accordance with law, within the time frame stipulated by this Court.

In view of the above submissions, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent/ Revenue Divisional Officer to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 03.10.2023 on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. Such representation shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an inquiry, affording a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner, the fourth respondent and to all other persons who may be affected by such decision during the course of the inquiry. In the event of any issues pertaining to land disputes, the parties shall approach the competent civil court. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
