PRAYER :- For Bail in Crime No.257 of 2022 on the file of the Respondent Police. ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 14.11.2022 1/3

for the alleged offence punishable under Sections 8(c) r/w 20(b)(ii)(C) & 25 NDPS Act 1985 in Crime No.257 of 2022 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail. 2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 21 kgs of ganja. Hence the case. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would contend that the petitioner is innocent and he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. He would further submit that the petitioner is in custody from 14.11.2022, hence he seeks bail.

4.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent Police would submit that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 21 kgs of ganja and he is a habitual offender. He would further submit that the investigation in this case is completed and charge sheet also filed, which was taken on file in C.C.No.124 of 2023 by the Additional District and Sessions Judge/Presiding Officer Special Court for EC & NDPS Act Cases, Pudukottai 5.Considering the seriousness of the offence committed by the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this criminal original petition is dismissed. However, the learned Additional District and Sessions Judge/Presiding Officer Special Court for EC & NDPS Act Cases, Pudukottai is hereby directed to dispose of the case in C.C.No.124 of 2023, within a 2/3
