ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by G.R.SWAMINATHAN, J.) Heard both sides.
2. The writ petitioner claims that he belongs to Hindu Paraiyar community. His grievance is that in the community certificate issued by the Tahsildar, Thottium Taluk, he had been wrongly described as Hindu Pallar. In the typed set of papers, the petitioner's father's school record has been enclosed. It is seen therefrom that the petitioner's father Muthulingam has been described as belonging to Hindu Paraiyar community.
3. We are satisfied with the materials on record that the petitioner belongs to Hindu Paraiyar community and that describing him in the community certificate as Hindu Pallar is erroneous. We direct the second 2/4
respondent to issue a revised community certificate certifying that the petitioner belongs to Hindu Paraiyar community. This shall be done within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. This Writ Petition is allowed. No costs.
