ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by R.MAHADEVAN, J.] This Writ Petition is filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18.01.2022 within a time frame.

2.Mr.M.Senthil Ayyanar, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents.

3.By consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

4.According to the petitioner, some private stone quarries, running in Tirunelveli District are transporting block stone, jelly from Tirunelveli to Kerala without obtaining any permission from the 2nd respondent. Hence, the petitioner made a representation to the respondents as well as to other higher officials. On receipt of the same, the Director of Mines and Geology, Chennai has forwarded

the same to the 2nd respondent to take appropriate action vide his communication dated 30.03.2022. However, till date, no action has been taken. Hence, this Writ Petition.

5.Though we are not inclined to entertain this Writ Petition, for curtailing the transportation of illegal river sand, block stone and jelly from Tirunelveli to Kerala, we direct the authorities concerned to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 18.01.2022 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law after affording sufficient opportunity to all the parties concerned, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
