I am satisfied that no contempt has been committed by the respondents.

2.Even according to the respondents, the petitioner's brother died in a hit and run accident. In such cases, the ex-gratia payment is given to the dependent of the deceased. The petitioner is given liberty to submit a petition to the District Collector, Trichy seeking ex-gratia payment for the hit and run accident. The District Collector, Trichy shall consider the same and give disposal on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks thereafter. 2/4
