Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner's wife passed away in unnatural circumstances. The petitioner wants her death to be registered. He also wants the death certificate to be issued. The second respondent is the competent authority. The petitioner has already moved the second respondent.

3. The second respondent is directed to hold an enquiry and pass appropriate order on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter. This writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
