2.The petitioner is said to be active in public life. He has been invited to participate in a function to be held in the second week of November, 2023 at Kuwait. The petitioner applied to the first respondent for issuance of passport. In view of the pendency of criminal cases, the first respondent had not processed the petitioner's application. The learned counsel for the petitioner states that out of five cases registered against the petitioner, four cases are fallout of the agitation in which the petitioner took part. It is stated that the petitioner is however facing trial in S.C.No.80 of 2022 on the file of the Principal District Court, Thiruvarur for the offences that includes Section 302 of IPC also. The petitioner is figuring as A25.

The petitioner is permitted to move the learned Principal District Judge, Thiruvarur seeking the relief now sought for. As and when it is filed, the learned Principal District Judge, Thiruvarur is requested to dispose it of within a period of three days thereafter. I am issuing this direction only because the learned counsel for the petitioner states that there is urgency in the matter.
