ORDER

The petitioner seeks to quash the final report in C.C.No.2351 of 2023 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Additional Mahila Court, Madurai, which was filed for the offence under Section 448 of IPC and Section 4 of TNPHW Act, 2002.

2. The allegation in the final report is that on 12.08.2023, when the defaco complainant was at her house, the petitioner trespassed into her house and threw an egg on the defacto complainant and thus, committed the aforesaid offences.

3. Admittedly, the petitioner and the defacto complainant are close relatives; and that they have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 09.09.2025 and the scanned copy of the compromise memo reads as follows:

4. The petitioner, namely, Karthickmathan (Aadhaar No.3914 0772 1507) and the second respondent, namely, Pandimeena (Aadhaar No.5433 3851 2476) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.K.Kumar, Special Sub-Inspector of Police, Subramaniyapuram Police Station, Madurai District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

5. In view of the same and considering the nature of the offences and the relationship between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned final report pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned final report in C.C.No.2351 of 2023 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Additional Mahila Court, Madurai District is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
