Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents Nos. 1 to 4 to take appropriate action against the 5th respondent and to grant police 1/4

protection to the petitioner and his family members to worship the Sree Kovan Kottai Kaliamman Temple, Karuppur Village, Avudaiyar Taluk, Pudukottai District within the period that may be stipulated by this Court. ORDER

The Writ Petition is filed for Mandamus to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to take appropriate action against the fifth respondent and grant police protection to the petitioner and his family members to worship in Sree Kovan Kottai Kaliamman Temple, Karuppur Village, Avudaiyar Taluk, Pudukottai District.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, would submit that on the complaint given by the petitioner, the second respondent is conducting an enquiry and appropriate action would be taken within a period of ten days.

3. Recording the aforesaid submission, this Writ Petition is closed. However, it is needless to say that if the petitioner is aggrieved by any action taken by the second respondent, it is open to him to seek appropriate remedy in the manner known to law.
