O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking a Mandamus as against the third respondent to impound the passport of the sixth respondent on the ground that a criminal case is pending as against the sixth respondent in a case in California.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the sixth respondent submits that the case in California has been dismissed.

3. The learned Central Government Standing Counsel appearing for the third respondent submits that unless a request emanates from the first respondent to the fifth respondent and in turn to the third respondent, the third respondent cannot impound the passport.

4. In the present case, an FIR has been registered as against the sixth respondent in Crime No.644 of 2024 on the file of the fourth respondent, which has culminated in filing of charge sheet in C.C.No.4 of 2025 on the file of the Mahila Court, Karur.

5. In case if any request emanates from the first respondent, the said request may be considered by the respondents 3 and 5. 3/5

6. With the above said observation, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
