ORDER

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the official respondents.

2. The petitioner claims that patta must be issued in his favour in respect of the petition mentioned land. However, the revenue records presently reflects the name of one Thamarai who is no more. The impleaded respondents are the legal heirs of the said Thamarai. The petitioner has given an application before the first respondent for correction of the revenue record and issuance of patta.

3. The first respondent is directed to pass order on the petitioner's application on merits and in accordance with law within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is open to the first respondent to pass order one way or the other. I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter. Interested persons shall be put on notice before passing the final order.
