O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to pass award and compensation to the petitioner for acquiring the land of the petitioner comprised in resurvey No.23/14 of Aathivilai Village, Kanyakumari District admeasuring 7 cents for the purpose of laying National Highway by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 25.07.2023.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents, based on written instructions dated 05.12.2025, submitted that an award has been passed in respect of the acquisition of the subject land for a sum of Rs. 16,01,744/-, and that the petitioner was also summoned by the second respondent to produce the relevant documents pertaining to the subject land. Since the required documents have not been produced before the second respondent, the matter is kept pending. However, the respondents will disburse the compensation amount to the person in 2/4

whose favour the award has been passed, after verifying the documents necessary for such disbursement.

3. Recording the above submissions, this writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider the case of the petitioner and disburse the compensation amount to the awardee after verifying the required documents. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks, after issuing notice to the petitioner and to any other persons who may be interested in the subject property.
