O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's application, dated 12.10.2022, for appointment to the post of Village Assistant under preferential quota to the persons belonging to the Scheduled Caste, whose land has been acquired by the Government for public purpose.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he is a land owner and he has provided his land to the Government for public purpose and they have assured to give a job to the petitioner. Hence, the petitioner made on-line application on 12.10.2022 for appointment to the post of Village Assistant under preferential quota to the persons, whose lands have been acquired by the Government. But, till date no order was passed. Therefore, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition with the aforesaid prayer.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if the second respondent is directed to dispose of the application of the petitioner, dated 12.10.2022, on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that if there is any Scheme prescribed for providing job to the land owners and if the petitioner satisfies the Scheme, the petitioner's request will be considered within a stipulated time.

Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's application , dated 12.10.2022 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if there is any Scheme prescribed for providing job to the land owners and if the petitioner satisfies the Scheme.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
