O R D E R

The present writ petition has been filed by the son of the deceased driver of the respondent Transport Corporation seeking a mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the request for compassionate appointment.

2. According to the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, the writ petitioner's father, who was working as a Driver had passed away on 14.06.2016 and he has filed an application seeking compassionate appointment in time. However, the same is yet to be considered.

3. On instructions, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submit that the first respondent is maintaining a seniority list for the Tirunelveli Region and the name of the petitioner is in the rank of 162 as and when the petitioner reaches the seniority, his name will be considered. 2/4

4. In view of the above said undertaking given by the respondents herein a direction is issued to the respondents to consider the name of the writ petitioner for appointment under the compassionate appointment scheme, if he is qualified otherwise, as and when he reaches his seniority.

5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
