O R D E R

The decision as to whether 'Inter Caste Marriage' could be included under the priority category for the purpose of recruitment for the Combined Civil Service Examination Group-IV, is a policy decision to be taken by the Government and as such, this Court may not be justified in invoking its extraordinary powers under Article 226 of the Constitution of India and thereby step into shoes of the Government.

2. The petitioner also claims to have approached the Government with the representation seeking for inclusion of Inter Caste Marriage under priority category, which is said to be pending. If at all the petitioner is aggrieved for non-inclusion of this priority category, it would be appropriate for him to pursue the representation made in this regard.

3. With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands closed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is also closed.
