ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 30.07.2024 to rectify the error occurred in measurement of the patta in Survey No.582/1A situated at Melavalavu Revenue Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai District.

2. By consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

3. The petitioner had ancestral property in Survey No.582/1 to an extent of 2.83 acres, at Melavalavu Revenue Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai District. The property stood in the name of the petitioner's father and he died on 18.02.2008. When the revenue records were mutated, instead of recording the extent as 2.83 acres, it was erroneously recorded as 0.10.50 Hectares. To rectify the said mistake and to issue fresh patta, the petitioner made several requests. As the respondents did not act upon 2/5

the petitioner's requests, the petitioner filed a detailed representation on 30.07.2024 to the respondents to rectify the mistake with regard to the extent of the property. The petitioner also filed W.P(MD)No.18929 of 2024 and the same was dismissed as withdrawn on 07.08.2024. In spite of that, the respondents did not consider the petitioner's representation. Therefore, the petitioner filed the above Writ Petition for the abovesaid relief.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice if a direction is issued to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 30.07.2024, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5. Considering the limited prayer of the learned counsel for the petitioner, a direction is issued to the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 30.07.2024 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
