ORDER

Heard both sides.

2.The petitioner got married to Muthumeenal and through the wedlock, a male child was born on 08.07.2011. The birth certificate of the child needs correction. Hence, this writ petition has been filed. 3.As rightly pointed out by the learned standing counsel for Karaikudi Municipality, the petitioner has to blame himself for the confusion. Be that as it may, considering the interest of the child, I permit the petitioner to give a fresh application. The petitioner shall set out the amendments needed in the birth certificate. Upon receipt of the said application, the respondents are directed to carryout the necessary changes in the birth register and issue a fresh certificate as sought for the 2/6

writ petitioner. The learned standing counsel states that prior permission has to be obtained from the Director of Municipal Administration. As and when, the Commissioner, Karaikudi Municipality makes such a request, it shall be acceded to by the Director of Municipal Administration. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a fresh application from the writ petitioner. It is made clear that the writ petitioner shall not vex the authorities with any further request for amendment in the birth certificate. The birth certificate to be issued will the final one. 4.This writ petition is allowed accordingly.
