Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records pertaining to the impugned order in Na.Ka.No.16/ka.aa(la)/2025, dated 29.08.2025 passed by the 1st respondent and quash the same as illegal and for a consequential direction directing the first respondent to grant permission for conducting peaceful hunger strike protest on 13.09.2025 at any convenient place in Maalvaai village, Lalgudi Taluk, Tiruchirappalli District. ORDER
The petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition challenging the impugned order passed by the respondent and seeking a direction to grant permission to conduct a peaceful hunger strike/protest on 13.09.2025 at any convenient place in Maalvaai Village, Lalgudi Taluk, Tiruchirappalli District.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that, by the impugned order, dated 29.08.2025, the respondent has rejected the request for permission on the ground that the place suggested by the petitioner for conducting the hunger strike would cause hindrance to the general public. He would further submit that the petitioner is willing to conduct the hunger strike at any other suitable place and undertakes to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by the respondent.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, would submit that the respondent had rejected the request since permitting the petitioner to conduct the protest at the place sought for would cause hindrance to the general public. It is further submitted that the respondent is willing to permit the petitioner to conduct a peaceful hunger strike at Jallikattu Ground, Maalvaai Village, Lalgudi Taluk, Tiruchirappalli District. 2/4
4. In view of the aforesaid submission, the impugned order of the respondent dated 29.08.2025 is set aside. The respondent is directed to grant permission as undertaken by them for the conduct of the hunger strike on 22.09.2025. The order granting such permission shall be communicated to the petitioner on or before 18.09.2025.
