O R D E R
After seeking a change of patta in the name of the petitioner, the present writ petition has been filed since the said request was not acted upon by the respondents.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the relevant property originally belonged to the forefathers of her husband. He relies upon settlement deed dated 05.07.2016 by which the property was settled in the petitioner's name.
3. Learned Government Advocate accepts notice for all the respondents. On the basis of written instructions, he submits that Patta No.3281 was issued in respect of Survey No.38/18A2 to Thiru.Sethupathi and Patta No.3217 was issued in respect of Survey No. 2/5
38/18B to Tmt.Padma Sumathi. Therefore, he contends that the petitioner is not entitled to a change of name. Without prejudice, he submits that the petitioner's representation would be considered and disposed of on merits within twelve weeks.
4. In view of the submissions of learned Government Advocate, it is necessary that Thiru.Sethupathi and Tmt.Padma Sumathi be put on notice and provided a reasonable opportunity before any decision is taken on the petitioner's request for change of name.
5. Subject to the above observations, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the fourth respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's request for change of name within twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and the pattadhars mentioned in the previous paragraph. No costs.
