This Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to rectify the mistake in the Page No. 1 of 4

revenue records in connection with the property in Survey No.143/A8, situated at Kollankarai Village, Thanjavur Taluk, Thanjavur District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 22.10.2024, within a time frame stipulated by this Court.

2. With the consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

3. The subject property is an ancestral property of the petitioner. The petitioner's mother was in possession and enjoyment of the property. After her demise, the petitioner has been in possession and enjoyment of the property. Subsequently, the petitioner came to know that the name of the second respondent had been erroneously entered in the UDR entry. Consequently, the petitioner submitted a representation to the first respondent on 22.10.2024, seeking the rectification of the mistake in the revenue records. On receipt of the representation, the first respondent, by a communication dated 13.11.2024, directed the Tahsildar, Thanjavur, to verify the records and send a detailed reply. However, there had been no response. Therefore, the petitioner filed this Writ Petition for the above relief.

4. Though the petitioner has sought a larger relief, in my view, it would be appropriate to direct the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation within a time frame. Therefore, a direction is issued to the first respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 22.10.2024, in accordance with the Circular of the Commissioner of Land Administration dated 17.07.2023, bearing Na.Ka.No.R1/2005632/2022, within a period of 12 (twelve) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Needless to state that notice of enquiry shall be issued to all the interested parties and the order shall be passed after considering the objections of all parties.

5. With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
