PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, forbearing the respondents from removing bunk Kiosk Coffee Shop of the petitioner situated inside the Kumbakonam Taluk Office campus till 31.12.2017.

The petitioner was permitted to run a coffee shop in Kumbakonam Taluk office campus in the year 1983 and subsequently, he was directed to vacate the shop, in view of the subsequent developments and the inconvenience caused to the public. Therefore, the petitioner has filed this writ petition in the year 2017 for the relief of mandamus, forbearing the respondents from removing his shop till 30.12.2017.

2.Today(24.01.2024), when this writ petition is taken up for hearing, there is no representation for the petitioner. 3.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submits that the petitioner was initially permitted to run a coffee shop in the year 1983 in the campus of Kumbakonam Taluk Office and he was allowed to continue for some time and due to the inconvenience caused to the public, who are visiting the office, the petitioner was directed to vacate the shop and he was 2/5

evicted from the Taluk office campus on 14.05.2017. She further submits that the petitioner has not paid any rent from 01.01.2017 to 30.12.2017.

4.Since there is no representation for the petitioner and considering the relief sought for in this writ petition and also by recording the submission made on behalf of the respondents, this writ petition is closed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
