ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 3rd respondent to disburse the final payment due to the petitioner, on account of the petitioner having completed the contract 2/6
works relating to the construction of an Over Head Tank at Muslim Street, Reddiyar Street, and Gounder Street, in Peruvalanallur Village Panchayat, Lalgudi Panchayat Union, under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme during the year 2009-2010. The petitioner seeks such payment to be made within a time frame to be fixed by this Court, in the light of the proceedings dated 25.02.2025 issued by the 3rd respondent to the 2nd respondent.
2. Mr.D.Sasikumar, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents 1, 2, 4 to 6. Mr.A.Oliraja, learned Government Advocate, takes notice for the third respondent. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

It is noticed that the Measurement Book available with the respondent has gone missing, and no explanation has been offered as to why the petitioner did not claim the balance dues from the year 2011, when only a part payment of Rs.4,31,790/- was made to him. However, in the affidavit filed in support of the present writ petition, it is stated as follows:- "6........... After the completion of work in 2010, the 6th respondent issued to me Xerox copies of Work Slip signed on 01.03.2010. "Completion Report" signed on 01.03.2010, and 'M Book' signed on various dates in 2010."

4. Further, it is seen that in the typed set of papers, a xerox copy of the Measurement Book has been enclosed. Therefore, the third respondent is directed to verify the veracity of the said book and, taking into consideration the proceedings dated 25.02.2025, disburse the balance payment to the petitioner within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
