PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 particularly the 4th respondent to dispose the petitioner's RTI application filed before them, dated 23.09.2024 with regard to furnishing Village 'A' Register of the Survey number 65/1, situated at Chinnapuliyampatti, Aruppukottai, Virudhunagar District to him.

The petitioner submitted an RTI application to the respondents 2 to 4 on 23.09.2024 seeking a copy of the Village 'A' Register of the land bearing Survey No.65/1 situated at Chinnapuliyampatti, Aruppukottai, Virudhunagar District. As the respondents did not furnish the required information, the petitioner filed this writ petition for the aforesaid relief.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the competent authority to furnish the information sought for by the petitioner in his application, dated 23.09.2024 is the 3rd respondent. In the prayer to the writ petition, a direction was erroneously sought against the respondents 1 to 4. The 2/5

learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though the writ petition was for a direction to all the respondents, the prayer may be moulded and direction may be issued to the 3rd respondent to furnish all the information sought for by the petitioner in his application, dated 23.09.2024.

3. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the records.

It is seen that the petitioner has filed an application, dated 23.09.2024 for furnishing a copy of the Village 'A' Register of Survey No.65/1, at Chinnapuliyampatti, Aruppukottai, Virudhunagar District. It is seen that the petitioner's application was not processed and the information sought for was not furnished till date.

5. Under Right to Information Act, the information should be furnished within a period of thirty (30) days and therefore, a direction is issued to the 3rd respondent to furnish the petitioner with copy of Village 'A' Register of Survey No.65/1, at Chinnapuliyampatti, Aruppukottai, Virudhunagar District within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 3/5

6. With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
