ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate No.1, Trichy, to expedite the trial proceedings in CC No.218 of 2022.

2.When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent would submit that the absconding charge sheet has been filed before the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Trichy and the same was taken on file as C.C.No.218 of 2022, against two accused persons, that the second accused, who was on bail, has appeared before the concerned Court and that since the first accused remained absconding, summons was ordered to be issued and that the case was posted on 22.12.2022 for service of summons on the first accused. 3.Since the case is of the year 2022 and that the first accused is yet to appear before the concerned Court, the question of directing the trial Court to expedite the trial does not arise. But, at the same time, the respondent police is directed to take necessary steps to serve the summons on the first accused at the earliest.

4.With the above direction, this criminal original petition stands disposed of.
