Mr.M.Murugan, learned Government Advocate takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

2. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The writ petition has been filed by the petitioner praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's Application ID No. 2016/0301/22/004625 dated 08.10.2016 as expeditiously as possible and not later than within the time period fixed by this Court.

4. The case of the petitioner is that, he made a representation, dated 08.10.2016, to the respondents seeking for marriage financial assistance to his daughter's marriage under the "Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Memorial Marriage Assistance Scheme" but the same was not considered by the respondents. Till date, even after a lapse of three years of time, the respondents have not considered the representation of the petitioner and therefore, the petitioner has approached this Court by way of filing the present writ petition.

5. In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 08.10.2016 and pass appropriate orders on the same, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
