ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondent to renew the licence granted in favour of the petitioner vide Licence No. 5/2012/TUT, on the strength of the petitioner's application dated 03.12.2023 forthwith, in accordance with Rule No. 24 of Arms Rules 2016.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court.

3. Without expressing any opinion on merits of the writ petition, the respondent is directed to consider the application dated 03.12.2023, submitted by the petitioner, for renewal of his licence for having pistol, in accordance with Rule No. 24 of Arms Rules 2016, after giving opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
