ORDER

After the petitioner was granted promotion to the post of Police Constable Grade-I with effect from 21.02.2016, the respondents had sanctioned the arrears of salary, based on the promotion and had credited the amount in the savings account of the petitioner. On receipt of the amount, the petitioner disputed the arrears and claimed excess payment and in this connection, the petitioner had given a representation on 27.11.2019 to the first respondent herein. 2. It is not in dispute that the arrears of salary based on the promotion was credited to the petitioner's account, but the petitioner was not put on prior notice with regard to the mode in which the arrears was calculated. However, the petitioner now seems to dispute the arrears amount paid.

3. Though the petitioner herein seeks to quash the endorsement in C.No.B2/23658/2017 dated 02.03.2019, this Court is of the view that if the objections raised by the petitioner questioning the quantum of the arrears are directed to be disposed of by the respondents, the ends of justice could be secured.

4. In the light of the above observations, there shall be a direction to the first respondent herein to consider the petitioner's representation dated 27.11.2019 on its own merits and pass appropriate orders within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This Writ Petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
