The petitioner with a grievance that the amount deposited by the petitioner in his savings Bank Account No.8770 1/4

was not returned by the respondent Bank has filed this writ petition in the year 2017.

2.According to the petitioner, as per the entries made in the Savings Bank pass book issued to the petitioner, a sum of Rs.4,78,773/- was available as on 01.10.2015 and the petitioner is also having passbook to that effect.

3.Today (26.03.2024), when this writ petition is taken up for hearing, it is reported that the learned counsel for the petitioner has filed a memo for withdrawing his appearance. 4.The learned counsel appearing for the respondent seeks time to get instructions.

5.Considering the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner and considering the fact that this writ petition is pending from the year 2017, this writ petition is allowed with a direction to 2/4

the respondent Bank to return the amount to the petitioner, if any deposited by the petitioner along with the accrued interest within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
